The national female U18 basketball team yesterday won bronze in the AfroBasket competition, beating Angola 56-43 in the match for third place .
The national team ended up having a good “African”, considering they failed to qualify for the final after being beaten 66-33 by Egypt in the semi-finals on Saturday.
But the game with Angola gave the Mozambican basketballers an opportunity to once more raise their heads and chase a medal that will fill them with honour and hope for subsequent challenges.
