The Cahora Bassa Hydroelectric Plant (HCB) on August 28th hosted a seminar in the State Business Sector Pavilion at the 59th Maputo International Fair (FACIM). The event aimed to present the company’s financial results for the first half of 2024 and to re-publicise the HCB’s new Supplier Portal.
HCB board director Ermínio Chiau highlighted the company’s excellent performance during the period, with production of 8,396.40 GWh and a net profit of 8,961.13 million meticais.
“These solid results demonstrate our financial solidity and our commitment to contributing to the country’s development,” Chiau said.
In addition to the financial results, HCB presented its new Supplier Portal, a digital platform that aims to simplify and optimise the process of contracting national suppliers. The company hopes this tool will increase the number of local suppliers and strengthen the national value chain.
During the seminar, HCB also addressed the importance of financial literacy and announced a roadshow in the provinces. The aim is to promote greater involvement of shareholders and potential investors, offering clear and transparent information about the company and investment opportunities.
