Tomás Matola, chairman of the Board of Directors of HCB, paid an official visit on Tuesday (13-08) to the construction site of the health centre in Nonge, Mueda district, Cabo Delgado province.
This centre will be a Type II building and consist of an outpatient care block with treatment rooms, a pharmacy and a laboratory; a maternity block with two delivery rooms and two wards with a capacity for nine beds; a “mother’s waiting room” and an incinerator, as well as a water and electricity supply system. The health centre will be equipped with hospital medical equipment and domestic furniture.
During the visit, Tomás Matola was received with enthusiasm by the population, who expressed great optimism regarding the positive impact that the Nonge Health Centre will have on the region.
The HCB chairman praised the dedication of the construction teams and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting projects that contribute to the social and economic development of communities.
“The construction of the Nonge Health Centre, which is an initiative of the Office of the President of the Republic and financed by HCB, demonstrates the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility,” Tomás Matola said. “This visit underlines our dedication to supporting communities and promoting access to quality healthcare. Once completed, this centre will provide essential medical services to the residents of Mueda and beyond, responding to a critical need for improved healthcare infrastructure in the region.”
In turn, Valige Tauabo, Governor of Cabo Delgado Province, thanked and commended HCB for participating in the initiative to build the infrastructure, including the water and electricity supply system, stating that they will bring enormous benefits to the population of this region.
