Vietnam-Mozambique friendly football tournament to mark Vietnam’s National Day

A friendly football competition between Vietnam and Mozambique was held last weekend in Mozambique’s capital Maputo to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
Addressing the opening ceremony, the Envoy of the Vietnamese Embassy to Mozambique Vu Thanh Nam underscored the historical importance of the August Revolution, which led to the birth of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
He said the tournament, involving four teams, aimed to inspire the Vietnamese community who live and work in Mozambique to turn their hearts to the homeland and strengthen friendship and solidarity with Mozambique’s people.
After 2 days of competition, the Vietnamese community’s team in Mozambique won first prize.
