Mozambican boxer Tiago Muxanga defeated German Magomed Elim Schachidov this Sunday (28-07) and will on Wednesday face Mexican Marco Alvarez Verde, who was exempt from the first qualifying round of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
According to VOA, Muxanga beat Schachidov 4-1 in the 71-kilo category in a very close match.
Mozambican boxer Alcinda Panguana dos Santos also qualified for the round of 16 after defeating Slovakian athlete Jessica Triebelova 5-0.
Next Thursday (01), she will face the 66-kilo world champion, Chinese Liu Yang.
Mozambican judoka Jacira Ferreira however suffered a different fate, having been defeated by ippon by March Maharani from Indonesia, thus ending her participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
