Work on the bridge over the Lúrio river between Nipepe district in Niassa province and Lalaua in Nampula is entering its final phase.
Lalaua administrator Alfredo Matata notes that the bridge will facilitate the flow of mineral resources, namely graphite, from Nipepe to the Port of Nacala, in Nampula province.
According to Matata, the Nipepe-Lalaua-Malema road, that is, from Niassa to Nampula, is also in the conclusive phase – a major milestone in the development of communities along the corridor.

Matata also said that, while the new road would bring joy to the population of the district.
Meanwhile, he said, he advanced state of degradation of the main access road to the district headquarters town – a section of just over 80 kilometres – was still of concern.
