Mozambique reports over 11.5 million malaria cases in 2024

Grindrod actively participated in World Environment Day celebrations throughout June, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and community development.
In partnership with the Provincial Directorate of Territorial Development and Environment (DPDTA), Grindrod participated in events held in Mulotana, Boane district, on June 5th. The celebrations were attended by key government officials, including the Governor of Maputo Province.
Grindrod donated 500 fruit tree seedlings to the Mulotana community, promoting local biodiversity and sustainable agriculture, aligning with the 2024 World Environment Day theme of “Ecosystem Restoration.” Additionally, the company provided 10 school supply kits to local children.
On June 7th, Grindrod joined forces with other companies in a road clean-up initiative at the Port of Matola, raising awareness about waste management and promoting a cleaner environment.
Afonso Bié, Grindrod’s National SHEQ Manager, emphasized the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility: “Celebrating World Environment Day provides us with a valuable opportunity to raise awareness and encourage responsible actions towards preserving and improving our environment.”
