President of the Republic of Botswana, Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, yesterday (11-07) visited Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB), one of the largest hydroelectric plants in Southern Africa, within the scope of an official visit to Mozambique.
During the visit, President Masisi had the opportunity to visit the Dam and Central South, witnessing first-hand the grandeur of the infrastructure and the operational capacity of HCB. He expressed interest in visiting Cahora Bassa again, to learn about the hydro-energy production engineering processes.
President Masisi’s visit to HCB reinforces Mozambique’s capabilities in the energy sector and paves the way for bilateral cooperation and knowledge sharing between the two nations, crucial to promoting mutual understanding and establishing mutually beneficial partnerships at a time when both countries are seeking to meet their growing energy demands and explore renewable sources.
