Former students of the 16 de Junho Primary School in Maputo are today delivering a 2,000-book children’s library to the establishment.
The initiative is part of the “De Pequeno Se Torce o Destino” project (“From an Early Age, One Twists Fate”), which is creating a network of children’s libraries in primary schools, sponsored by former students.
The objective is to give back to learning and encourage a love of reading in children, the promoters of the initiative explain.
The event is held in partnership with the School of Communication and Arts (ECA) at Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM).
