Mozambique: Restructuring not limited to LAM - president

The President of the Mozambique – United States of America Chamber of Commerce (CCMUSA), Onório Manuel, called on the association’s new board to adopt the cooperative model as one of the main model as one of the main pillars for achieving the objectives set for the 2024-2028 period.
This appeal was made during the first meeting of the new governing bodies, held on June 10 at the BCI headquarters in Maputo. Among other points, the members discussed the current state of CCMUSA and adjusted the activity plan to include general goals, short-, medium- and long-term objectives.
The board’s dynamism and proactivity
During the meeting, the CCMUSA president highlighted the dynamism, proactivity, and proactivity of the new Board of Directors as key factors that contributed to achieving the results in less than two months after taking office.
Recent achievements include the accession of five new members. To strengthen cooperation and strategically position the association, the President recently held a courtesy meeting with the US Embassy in Mozambique, and took part in the United States-Africa Business Summit, in Dallas. The discussions and results of these meetings will serve to improve CCMUSA’s activities.
Creation of ombudsman offices under consideration
During the meeting, the board members discussed the possibility of creating ombudsmen to provide assistance to the business community in various sectors, an initiative aimed at bringing members closer together and building loyalty.
The meeting was preceded by an induction session given by the outgoing President, Evaristo Madime, who stressed the importance of making periodic meetings more flexible between the governing bodies, giving priority to events to bring together the business community operating in various branches and some government entities, with the aim of exploring potential business opportunities.
