Mozambique’s Minister of National Defence, Cristóvão Chume, was a speaker a the EU’s Schuman Security and Defence Forum, in a roundtable on “Counter-terrorism, a Holistic Approach,” held in Brussels recently.
Minister Chume also held a bilateral meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell.
The Schuman Forum brings together politicians, military representatives and academics from European Union member states and partner countries with representatives of international and regional organizations for high-level dialogue on international peace, security and defence issues.
Over 600 participants from all over the world gathered at the most recent Schuman Forum to assess common threats and discuss ways to tackle them together.
Happy to meet Defence Minister Cristóvão Chume.
We discussed the achievements of EUTM Mozambique. Thanks to our mission, support to armed forces, regional as well as bilateral efforts by Rwanda, we jointly managed to limit the expansion of the terrorist threat in Cabo Delgado. pic.twitter.com/2DMD8FBNwk— Josep Borrell Fontelles (@JosepBorrellF) May 29, 2024
