Thirty-six thousand Mozambicans have been registered during voter registration in Malawi.
This represents an overachievement of 90%, compared to the planned target of registering close to 18,000 Mozambican citizens of voting age.
These numbers are attributed to the redoubled civic education work carried out at district level, and with the dissemination of messages through the media.
Consul of Mozambique in Blantyre, André Matusse, considers the accomplishment recompense for the selfless work carried out by the technical teams involved in the process.
The southern region of Malawi was the one in which the most Mozambican citizens registered, followed by the central and northern areas.
Matusse said that the voter rolls had already been printed for subsequent display and consultation.
