The Political Commission of Frelimo has scheduled an extraordinary session of the Central Committee (CC) for May 3rd at the party’s Central School in Matola, Maputo province.
The decision was announced yesterday evening by the party’s spokesperson, Ludmila Maguni, at the end of another meeting of this ruling party organ. No details were provided, but it is known that this meeting may consider and discuss the names submitted by the Political Commission for the electoral race on October 9th. In fact, the holding of this meeting is one of the decisions arising from the 3rd Ordinary Session of Frelimo, held on the 5th and 6th of this month in Matola, where members of the organ directed the Political Commission to submit a list with the names of the pre-candidates for decision-making.
Meanwhile, yesterday, the Political Commission congratulated the members for the dynamism, unity, and cohesion shown during the III Central Committee Session, a political exercise that marks the ongoing preparation for Frelimo’s victory in this year’s presidential, legislative, and provincial assembly elections.
