The province of Nampula expects to produce around 288 thousand tons of fish in captivity this year, compared to 134 thousand from the same period last year.
In total, the province expects to produce about 388 thousand tons of fish from artisanal, industrial, and small-scale production, with 100 thousand tons from artisanal fishing, compared to 97 thousand from last year.
The government recognizes a growth resulting from the implementation of the Small-Scale Aquaculture Development Project (PRODAPE), implemented by the National Institute for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development.
