The district government of Massingir will soon initiate an action plan to implement the strategy to mitigate human-wildlife conflict in Limpopo National Park in the northern region of Gaza.
This action plan aims to address the shortcomings in the implementation of the strategy to mitigate human-wildlife conflict in this conservation area due to gaps in legislation, lack of material and financial resources, among other issues.
To this end, the district government of Massingir held a reflection meeting on Wednesday involving various entities at local, provincial, and national levels to gather contributions that will form part of the matrix for the execution of this action plan.
The district administrator of Massingir, Esmeralda Mutemba, stated at the end of this meeting that it is time to take more assertive actions for mitigating human-wildlife conflict in Limpopo National Park, which is causing a strained relationship between the affected population and the government.
The Administrator of Limpopo National Park, Francisco Pariela, mentioned that the outcomes of this meeting will help bring about satisfactory results in mitigating human-wildlife conflict in that region, which has been a major problem in recent days.
