The remote monitoring of national borders, details of which are currently under preparation, will enable the tracking of illicit activities by identifying smuggling routes, in addition to enhancing cooperation between customs administrations.
The implementation of geospatial systems to strengthen border control, involving technologies such as geolocation, remote sensing and geographic information, is currently being prepared.
In this context, the Mozambique Tax Authority (AT) has established a task force conducting studies on the implementation of possible solutions, providing not only customs supervision but also boosting security in conflict environments.
To materialize this objective, Director-General of Customs, Taurai Tsama, oversaw a seminar on the challenges of implementing the initiative in Maputo yesterday.
