The Mozambican government has approved five terms of concession contracts for oil production in the country, said the spokesperson for the Council of Ministers.
These are contracts relating to the Offshore Save (S6-A and S6-B) and Angoche (A6-G, A6-D and A6-E) areas, which have as concessionaires the Chinese state oil company CNOOC Hong Kong and the National Hydrocarbon Company (ENH), Filimão Suaze announced after the Council of Ministers meeting in Maputo on Tuesday.
“As part of the implementation of the mineral resources policy, the Government of Mozambique continued with actions aimed at seeking more investments for the oil sector,” Suaze said
In December 2022, the National Petroleum Institute announced the award of these blocks to CNOOC, as a result of the sixth licensing round for gas and oil prospecting, launched on November 25, 2021.
