Mozambique Elections: Frelimo recognizes AMETRAMO’s contribution in the 2023 local elections

Frelimo on Monday expressed its thanks to the Mozambican Association of Traditional Doctors (AMETRAMO) for their support in the October 2023 elections.
“We were involved in a political competition process for the local elections and saw support from AMETRAMO. And that is why we want to thank you for your work,” said Head of the Frelimo Central Brigade and Assistance to the City of Maputo, Francisco Mucanheia.
In a meeting with traditional doctors, he also expressed the party’s satisfaction with their cordial relationship and with AMETRAMO’s support in mobilising the electorate.
“AMETRAMO forms the intersection between us and our ancestors, those whose memory we invoke so that there is peace and harmony in our land. So this is our tradition. We have no doubt that AMETRAMO carries Frelimo in its heart,” Mucanheira said, quoted by Radio Mozambique.
Meanwhile, AMETRAMO demonstrated its hope of drawing closer to the party’s decision-making bodies, as well as in the Assembly of the Republic, the Mozambican parliament.
“We ask and appeal for the appreciation of traditional doctors,” the AMETRAMO representative said.
