Mozambique wants intellectual, industrial property at the heart of economic growth

Although Mozambique is desperate for foreign direct investment, which has successively fallen in the last two years, the government has decided to increase, by around 35 percent, the cost of visas for investment activities, and work visas.
Since last February, it has become more expensive for foreign citizens to work in Mozambique. The following visas were revised by an additional 35 percent: the Crew Transfer Visa, the Transit Visa , the Simple Visa from 1 to 30 days, the Simple Visa from 31 to 60 days, the Simple Visa from 61 to 90 days, the Student Visa, the Work Visa from 1 to 90 days, the Work Visa from 91 to 180 days, the Work Visa from 181 to 365 days, the Investment Activities Visa from 1 to 90 days, the Visa for Investment Activities 91 to 180 days and also the Visa for Investment Activities 181 to 365 days.
@Verdade has learned that the cost of the Temporary Stay Visa for 1 to 90 days, the Temporary Stay Visa for 91 to 180 days and the Temporary Stay Visa for 181 to 365 days increased by 15 percent.
However, the fees charged for the granting, renewal, extension or replacement of the passport, travel documents and DIRE did not change, as also remain unchanged the visa exemption for entry into Mozambique, for tourism or business purposes, for citizens of 16 European countries, five Asian countries, three African countries, three Middle Eastern countries and two American countries.
