A fire broke out this Monday morning in the Ministry of State Administration and Civil Service building in Maputo.
According to Radio Mozambique, the fire broke out on the fourth floor, where the National Directorate for the Development of Public Administration (DNDAP) operates, destroying documents and equipment.
The fire is assumed to have been caused by a short circuit at around 7:00 a.m..
The situation is now under the control of the National Public Safety Service (SENSAP) (firefighters).
A meeting of the ministry’s Advisory Council was due to be held this morning under the direction of Minister Ana Comoane, but was postponed when access to the building was partially suspended.
SENSAP had promised to comment after surveying the damage caused by the fire.
