Cornelder de Moçambique (CdM) and Clube Ferroviário da Beira (CFvB) recently signed a partnership agreement in the city of Beira, aimed at strengthening the club’s working conditions in the various sports categories.
To this end, CdM will invest a total of U$160,000 over the next two years, which corresponds to U$80,000 per year between 2024 and 2025.
Under this agreement, CdM will also be able to provide CFvB with other non-monetary support, namely equipment, various sports equipment and logistical support for sporting events, with a focus on basketball and soccer, namely the last which will be competing in African competitions this year.
During the ceremony, CdM’s Deputy Managing Director, António Libombo, said that as part of its social responsibility, Cornelder has recently been increasing its support for sport. As an example, he mentioned the fact that earlier this year it supported the Mambas in their participation in the African Nations Championship (CAN), which took place in Côte d’Ivoire.
He added that CdM has contributed to finding new talent by organizing mini-basketball tournaments in Sofala, with the possibility of young players entering the professional ranks.
For his part, the president of CFvB, Valdemar de Oliveira, thanked CdM for its support, which can help the club to experience “more glorious moments” and project more Mozambican athletes to other levels.
“With CdM’s support there is a growing promise of more Reinildos and Gildos at the club, because there are talents coming through. This support will give us a huge boost, especially in a year when we’ll be taking part in African football competitions,” said Valdemar de Oliveira.
