Mozambique: Chapas (again) stop activity in Maputo’s Zimpeto

Getting to and from the Zimpeto public transport hub was practically impossible this Wednesday morning.
Semi-collective passenger transport [‘chapas’] operators working out of the terminal decided to halt their activities in protest against the poor condition of the roads connecting Zimpeto to National Highway Number 1.
Many people intending to take the minibus from Zimpeto to the city centre, Matola and Marracuene found themselves unable to do so.
The paved road that surrounds the Zimpeto National Stadium and the access to the bus terminal in the same location is in a very advanced state of degradation.
