Rising water levels in the Maputo, Umbelúzi, Incomáti and Save rivers
The Regional Administration of Waters of the South (Ara-Sul IP) also warned yesterday that, in view of the INAM forecasts for the provinces of Maputo, Gaza and Inhambane, water levels are expected to rise in the main river courses and their tributaries, possibly flooding riverside agricultural areas and hampering the transit of people and goods on some access roads.
ARA-Sul calls on the general public to take precautionary measures when approaching the Maputo, Umbelúzi, Incomáti, Limpopo and Save rivers, and especially when crossing them, at the risk of being swept away by the waters.
