‘Women Here and Now’ at the Brazil-Mozambique Cultural Centre in Maputo
Celebrating Eduardo White
One of Mozambique’s greatest poets will be remembered and celebrated at a multidisciplinary party on Wednesday, November 22nd, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Fernando Leite Couto Foundation.
Eduardo White is a total poet, a deep lover and diarist. This cultural soiree will be held by your friends and admirers (confessed and unconfessed) in the different languages of art.
The initiative is organised by social activist Eva Trindade and poet Eduardo Quive. Entry is free.
Eduardo Luís de Menezes Costley-White (Quelimane, November 21, 1963 – Maputo, August 24, 2014) was a member of the Mozambican Writers Association – AEMO, and of the group that founded the magazine Charrua and collaborated in the Gazeta de Letras e Artes of the magazine Tempo.
White received several awards, including the Gazeta de Arte e Letras Award from Revista Tempo (1989), the National Poetry Award (1992), the Literary Figure of the Year Award,, the Rui de Noronha Consecration Award (2005) and more.
