India: RITES clinches $37 million tender for 10 diesel-electric locomotives from CFM Mozambique

Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) also announced that it was the lowest bidder in two tenders from CFM Mozambique
RITES Ltd, a transport infrastructure consultancy and engineering firm, on November 17 announced that it secured a tender for 10 diesel-electric locomotives from CFM Mozambique, while it did not win the bid for 300 high-side wagons.
Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) also announced that it was the lowest bidder in two tenders from CFM Mozambique, but it secured the tender for 10 diesel-electric locomotives, valued at $37,680,080, while the tender for 300 high-side wagons went to a different bidder.
“….RITES emerging as the lowest bidder in two (2) tenders from CFM Mozambique subject to award after due process of CFM Mozambique’s scrutiny/evaluation. Out of the two tenders, one was for the supply of 10 diesel-electric locomotives with incidental service and the other was for the supply of 300 high-side wagons,” RITES, a Miniratna Schedule ‘A’ central public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, said in its exchange filing.
According to RITES, CFM Mozambique has completed the scrutiny/evaluation process and conveyed the outcomes in a letter dated November 13, 2023.
