Particularly affected are the districts of Angónia, Doa, Mutarara, Tsangano and Macanga, the last of which has diagnosed cases of the disease and recorded two deaths.
Health authorities in Tete are also concerned about outbreaks of diarrhoea and vomiting especially in Moatize district, which has at least 35 cases, of which 16 were hospitalised and one resulted in a fatality.
