In Hong Kong, where the T8 signal is also in force, authorities have announced they will consider issuing the No. 9 or No. 10 storm signal between 6 pm and 10 pm on Friday.

It is expected that the storm surge alert will escalate to a ‘red’ level in the evening, indicating an average flood level of 1.5 to 2.5 metres above the ground.
A total of 17 government shelters with a capacity of 24,000 have already been opened to provide temporary protection for residents in need.
According to the Transport Bureau, the city’s six gaming operators will make their car parks available for public use, providing approximately 3,800 parking spaces.
