The architect Jose Forjaz worked in Sub-Saharian Africa since the early 1960s and after serving as National Director of housing for seven years , was that Country’s Secretary of State for physical planning. He has also designed in Swaziland, Tanzania, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Kenya. Forjaz searched to make an architecture that was not merely Eurocentric, but which found reasons for its forms within the local culture.
