Elias is in Grade 7, he is 14 years old.
Elias risked his life travelling to Nampula to get a job and help his mother out.
He left Alto Molócuè in Zambézia province hidden under a horse truck on its way to Nampula from South Africa.
Elias told reporters in Nampula that he had got under the truck ‘at the gas station’. The driver never even saw him.
To everyone’s surprise, he was only discovered in the destination city after passing through two checkpoints.
