Mozambique Elections: Fifty injured during protests in Maputo

Renamo revealed yesterday in Maputo that it has sent a proposal to President Filipe Nyusi, containing conditions for a ceasefire, reported the evening online edition of o País.
Without giving details, the party of Afonso Dhlakama said it was now waiting for an answer.
According to José Manteigas, head of the Renamo Joint Commission delegation, the truce Mozambicans hope for depended on this answer.
Meanwhile, this morning (August 11) Zitamar reprots that the government has rejected this proposal.
Renamo continues to negotiate the issue of the six provinces it demands to govern.
