Mozambique: Misinformation deters breastfeeding in Nampula province - health authorities

Société Générale Mozambique Bank, held on Saturday (27/05), the 1st edition of Open Société Générale Mozambique, Solidarity Golf.
This is a Social Responsibility action in favor of children from the provincial nursery school “Os Continuadores” in Beira, Sofala province, which intends to respond to the primary needs of the nursery school since the purchase of clothes, mattresses and food products.
Over a hundred participants from athletes, clients and employees of the bank joined the event called Open Société Générale Mozambique, which started at 7:15 am at the Golf Club of Beira. The same counted with the official opening of the Bank’s CEO, Ridha Tekaia.
The game aimed at raising funds, ran until early afternoon, and each team played in order to add a value by the number of points obtained, which totaled 104 points later converted for the Kindergarten. In this context, the Bank added another 150 thousand meticais for better use of the Institution.
Visibly moved Ana Paula Salgado, Coordinator of the Children’s College Project at the Continuadores Kindergarten said that this act of solidarity is quite remarkable at a time when the winter season is approaching, because the Kindergarten needs to reinforce some blankets, and human care products.
“This is an institution that works in partnership with Civil Society in order to increase the response capacity of the kindergarten in which I have worked for 10 years and we focus on family reunification at the provincial level, we receive children from various districts at an early age and the needs range from artificial milk, medication, education among others according to circumstances,” said Ana Paula.
In turn, the CEO of Société Générale Bank Mozambique, Ridha Tekaia, said that besides operating as a financial group, Société Générale Bank Mozambique, intends to leave a legacy not only in its customers, but also in all geographies where customers are inserted.
“We want to be part of the various solutions and answers for the communities by helping those who need it most,” explained Tekaia
In this 1st edition of Golf Solidarity, the best player was selected and will have the chance to participate and compete in the 2nd edition in Maputo scheduled for May 17, and the winner of the 2nd edition will go to Mauritius to represent Mozambique.
The president of the Beira Golf Club, Félix Machado, said that the event had a positive impact as it started in Beira, especially in a sport that still needs more promotion.
“As Beira and local club we are pleased with the visibility that the bank gave to our province and to the effort we have made in this modality. We are aware that this is an action of Social Responsibility, but the impact here was double. Double because it benefited the most
