Mozambique wins “Regional” Boxing Championship

The Baia Futebol Clube, representative of Cabo Delgado province in the ‘Moçambola’, the country’s biggest football competition, will start playing matches at the refurbished Pemba Municipal Stadium from the 8th game week onwards.
The newly refurbished stadium, in a project financed by TotalEnergies, was officially opened this Tuesday (30 May).
The requalification consisted of the placement of of the laying of new synthetic playing surface of international standard, enlargement of the side stands, installation of lighting for the practice of football in the evenings, and the installation of a new electronic scoreboard, among other modifications.
Cabo Delgado Governor Valige Tauabo, who presided over the reopening ceremony, asked residents of the City of Pemba and the population in general to take ownership of the infrastructures of the new stadium, and look after it in order to maximise its durability.
The Secretary of State for Cabo Delgado Province, António Njanje Supeia appealed to the associative mass, sports players, businesspeople and the general population to support the ‘Baia de Pemba’ club, the team worthily representing the Province in the Moçambola.
The First Secretary of the Frelimo party in Cabo Delgado, Elias José Kalime, called on the ‘Baia de Pemba’ and other clubs to roll up their sleeves and bring joy back to the population of Cabo Delgado.
On the occasio, Kalime reiterated the appeal to the citizens of Pemba who still do not have a voter’s card, to register so as not to miss the opportunity to vote in the municipal elections next October.
