Young economist Tomás Matola will leave the Chairmanship of the Board of Directors of Banco Nacional de Investimentos (BNI) to head the Cabora Bassa Hydroelectric Plant (HCB). The information was confirmed to CanalMoz by a senior source from HCB’s Board of Directors.
The decision was taken a few days ago and should be officially announced in the next few hours.
Tomás Matola was remarkably successful in managing BNI, making the public bank, for the first time, paying dividends to the State and becoming an attractive asset.
This week, BNI announced profits of 208 million meticais and a check of 60 million to the State in the form of dividends. BNI’s success is due to Tomás Matola’s leadership.
Tomás Matola leaves the BNI bank in very good healthy and will head HCB in replacement of Boavida Muhambe who took office in March 2021.
