Water levels continue to rise at the Congerenge station in Niassa province and Gurúè in Zambézia province on the Rovuma and Licungo rivers respectively.
The Regional Water Administration of the North Region (ARA-Norte) has reiterated its call for all authorities and residents to observe precautionary measures pertaining to floods.
In its latest bulletin, cited by AIM, ARA-Norte repots that the Rovuma river at Congerenge station was at 0.37 metres above the alert level, while at Gurúè, the Licungo river was 0.92 metres above the mark.
The bulletin also reports that there is a reduction in hydrographic levels in some areas of the Rovuma, Messalo, Montepuez, Ligonha, Megaruma and Lúrio rivers. However, it notes, in the last 24 hours there has been a gradual rise in some [other] areas of the basins of the rivers Licungo (Tacuane), Messalo (Nacapa and Marrupa), Lúrio (Muite), Melúli (Moma-Boror, Nametil, Namaíta) and Rovuma (Matitima).
