Águas da Região Metropolitana de Maputo (AdRMM) announced that it has, on Sunday night (12-02), started gradually restoring the supply of drinking water to Maputo, Matola and Vila de Boane.
A press release issued this Monday (13 February) informs that “AdRMM was forced to suspend the water supply service, following the worsening hydrological situation that led to an increase in water discharges into the Umbelúzi river, the main source of water collection at the Umbelúzi Water Treatment (ETA-U) and the fall of electricity poles that feed the ETA-U.
“Having thus created technical conditions on site and attending to the reduction in rainfall and water discharges, AdRMM resumed its services under restrictions,” adds the note.
“The company AdRMM appreciates the understanding shown by its customers in the face of the inconveniences resulting from this natural disaster and recommends compliance with the alternative water supply plan now announced.”
