Mozambique: UN to build 400 houses for women in Cabo Delgado

Sheikh Aminuddin Muhammad was re-elected for another five years’ mandate as President of the Islamic Council of Mozambique (CISLAMO) on Sunday, January 15, at end of the Council’s three-day general assembly. Sheikh Aminuddin was first elected president of CISLAMO in 2001.
On the same occasion, Sheikh Mussa Tamimo was promoted to the position of CISLAMO General Secretary. He had held the post on an interim basis since the death of Sheikh Abdul Carimo Sau.

Sheikh Aminuddin Muhammad Ibrahim, now aged 68, was born in Ressano Garcia, Maputo province. He specialized in Quranic Studies at the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia, and graduated in Theology at the Islamic University of Karachi, in Pakistan.
Sheikh Aminuddin is a member of the Mozambican Council of State, President of the Council of Religions of Mozambique, and founder of the Hamza Institute, the largest Quranic teaching institution in Mozambique, with more than 150 Hafizes (memorizers of the Quran) and more than 200 graduated theologians.
