President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi yesterday arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), for a four-day working visit at the invitation of his counterpart Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The President is accompanied by First Lady Isaura Nyusi, Minister in the Presidency for Civil House Affairs Constantino Bacela, Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Carlos Zacarias, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Manuel Gonçalves, Deputy Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources Cecilia Chamutota, as well as members of staff of the Presidency of the Republic and other State institutions.
President Nyusi will this Monday participate in the opening ceremony of the Sustainability Week and witness the awarding of the Zayed Sustainability Prize.
During the visit, the president will hold talks with a view to consolidating and deepening cooperation between Mozambique and the UAE.
This Sunday, President Nyusi wrote on his Facebook page: “I have just landed in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the opening ceremony of the Sustainability Week and witness the awarding of the Zayed Prize for Sustainability, at the invitation of my counterpart Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.”
“One of the great challenges I take on this trip is related to the rehabilitation of National Road Number One, whose funding discussion is at a very advanced stage with the authorities of this country. Suffice it to recall that a mission has already been to Maputo which, together with the Mozambican side, assessed the needs,” reads the President’s note.
