Speaking to Friday’s edition of Diario de Moçambique, the director of FACIM, Octaviano Francisco, has said that 30 countries will be represented in this year’s event, one less than last year, but with Angola, Ireland and Belarus participating for the first time.
This year’s fair will have 12 pavilions and the process of registration of companies is still ongoing.
Francisco said that the slight reduction in foreign participation could be due to the political and military tension in the country or the global economic environment threatening trade agreements, but despite constraints, the organisers are expecting more than 80 thousand visitors.
As in past years, domestic companies will be accommodated in two pavilions called ‘Mozambique’ and ‘Ricatla’.
Other activities planned include awards ceremonies for biggest exporters and the best essays of students from three secondary schools in the country, best exhibitors awards, thematic presentations by countries, provinces, NGOs, the private sector, and public and educational institutes on business and investment opportunities in various economic sectors and sub-sectors of Mozambique and beyond, and various musical and cultural performances.
FACIM aims to identify and further business opportunities and existing investments in the country and in global markets and seeks to promote commercial partnerships, facilitate information transfer on the market and advances in the discovery of mineral resources in the country and promote the international image of its companies, products and services.
The Fair goes from August 29 to September 4.
