Police introduces temporary road escorts on 3 de Fevereiro- Manhiça section of N1

Mozambique police on Monday introduced a vehicles escort system on the section of National Road 1 between administrative post 3 de Fevereiro and the village of Manhiça because of dense fog during the night and in the early hours of the morning.
According to Folha de Maputo, this measure is aimed at reducing the number of accidents resulting from the reduced visibility on that section of the road. In areas particularly badly affected, police have sometimes been obliged to stop traffic completely and wait for an improvement in conditions.
Drivers contacted by FM were full of praise for the police’s proactive road safety measures.
