The Port of Matola, in Maputo province, will next year have truck parking space for around 400 vehicles, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Amilton Alissone announced on Monday at the end of a visit to the infrastructure.
Alissone visited the port to learn about operations there, particularly regarding the management of vehicle traffic using the port to load fuel and unload minerals from South Africa.
At the end of the visit, Alissone said that a package of measures was being implemented to improve access to the port, thereby freeing up the N4 and Estrada Velha da Matola, which had been registering some congestion in part due to post traffic.
