Individuals in Nhangau administrative post in Sofala province have reportedly been collecting pieces of chicken disposed of because they were already unfit for consumption to sell in markets.
The spoiled chicken pieces ended up lying on the ground at the location in question after several attempts at incineration failed because the chicken was frozen and in boxes.
Once they came upon the site, local residents started harvesting the product.
The public has now been warned to be vigilant when purchasing chicken skewers and offcuts in local markets, given that some of the scavenged produce is already being sold there at low cost.
