The first stone of a new INSS district delegation building was laid in the village of Metangula, Lago district, this Wednesday, as part of the territorial expansion of social security services.
At a cost of around 20 million meticais, the new building will be delivered within ten months, and will serve residents not only of Lago district, but also of neighbouring Sanga district.
The event, chaired by the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Margarida Adamugi Talapa, was attended by Governor of Niassa, Elina Judite Massengele, and President of the Municipality of Metangula, Sara Mustafa, among others.
While in Lago, Minister Talapa also delivered kits containing items such as freezers, refrigerators, sewing machines and fishing nets to self-employed workers’ associations, with the aim of helping them to strengthen their productive capacity and increase their income, itself a source for the payment of social security contributions.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the minister visited an INSS pensioner, to whom she offered a wheelchair and a basic food basket.
