On November 17th, Thursday, the event “Renewables for Industry and Agriculture in Mozambique” will take place at the Southern Sun hotel in Maputo, as part of the week of industrialization in Africa, which will take place between November 14th and 18th
.
Given the energy access challenges in Mozambique, renewable energies offer a competitive and reliable solution to increase the profitability and sustainability of agricultural and industrial projects. Even tough the national market for renewable energies is already well developed, the event will focus on raising awareness and informing professionals in the agricultural and industrial sector about the existing offer and the benefits and savings that can be obtained from these technologies.
In this context, the event “Renewables for Industry and Agriculture in Mozambique” will be the starting point to clarify the technical and financial concepts of renewable energy projects, present real case studies, as well as disseminate credit lines and other financing mechanisms, with the aim of increasing demand for renewable energy by the industrial and agricultural sectors and promoting private investment.
During this event, renewable energy companies will have the opportunity to present their products and services to the agricultural and industrial sector through a pitch session, complemented by several occasions for networking.
“Renewables for Industry and Agriculture in Mozambique” will be a unique opportunity for industrial, agricultural and energy entrepreneurs to come together, with financiers, to establish contacts, partnerships and future businesses, with socio-economic and environmental benefits for companies, for the Mozambican economy and for all the population.

The event is promoted by he Lusophone Association of Renewable Energies (ALER), together with the Mozambican Association of Renewable Energies (AMER), the Industrial Association of Mozambique (AIMO) and the National Federation of Agricultural Associations of Mozambique (FENAGRI), with the support from GET.invest Mozambique, financed by the European Union and Germany and integrated into the European program GET.invest and also officially sponsored by Source Energia.
ALER
ALER is a non-profit association whose mission is to promote renewable energy in Portuguese-speaking countries. ALER develops public relations work, acting as an interlocutor with government institutions, bridging the gap between the public and private sectors, in order to create a favourable regulatory framework. The Association also intends to create a platform for exchanging information and generating consensus among all stakeholders, asserting itself as the common voice of renewable energies in Portuguese speaking countries and internationally.
ALER’s priority countries are the national renewable energy markets of Angola, Cape Verde, GuineaBissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.
AMER
AMER is a private, non-profit entity, with legal and administrative personality, financial and patrimonial autonomy, constituted for an indefinite period. Founded in 2017,
AMER’s mission is the promotion of renewable energies in Mozambique and aims to play a crucial role in coordinating the representation and defence of the common interests of all members and serving as an essential instrument for the participation and awareness of the valorisation of natural resources of renewable energy for the sustainable development of Mozambique.
