Mozambique Elections: Frelimo leadership denounces 'political intolerance' amid protests
Mozambique’s Minister of National Defence said yesterday that individuals hostile to the historic relations between Mozambique and Tanzania cannot take advantage of the courtesy, hospitality and cordiality of these two nations to carry out subversive action such as terrorism.
Minister Cristovao Chume was speaking on Thursday at the end of the fourth session of the Permanent Joint Mozambique-Tanzania Commission on Defence and Security in Maputo.
The event ended with the signing of an agreement on the sharing of intelligence and information, which provides the legal framework for preventive action to fight terrorism.
The parties also formalised an agreement that strengthens the framework for cooperation in the field of training.
The Mozambican Defence Minister stressed that, during the three-day summit, open, concise and in-depth debates had been held on issues with direct and indirect influence on the stability of Mozambique and Tanzania.
