The Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy (MIREME), through the National Directorate of Geology and Mines (DNGM), is between 19 and 20 of September evaluating recommendations for the implementation of extension services in artisanal and small-scale mining (MAPE), operationalization of which began in November, 2021.
Deputy National Director of Geology and Mining, Cândido Rangeiro, who opened the event in Maputo, said that an initial phase in the operationalization of this instrument would see the opening of three pilot processing centres in the provinces of Inhambane, Tete and Zambézia.
According to Rangeiro, the plan foresees the establishment of a program of mining extension services covering technical, social, environmental, legal, financial and commercialization components, to better stimulate the mineral resources sector.
The event involves MIREME technicians at central and provincial level and artisanal mining stakeholders.
