Work on the 39 kilometre-long Boane-Namaacha stretch of National Highway Number Two (EN2) are due to start soon, following the launch earlier this week of a public tender for the selection of the contractor.
The work will be financed by the Mozambican state.
The director of Infrastructure Services in Maputo province, Fernando Andela, explained that the road connecting Mozambique and ESwatini is one of the government’s priorities, given its importance in the movement of people and goods between the two countries.
The planned works “are more robust interventions at the most critical points, but we also have an action linked to filling potholes,” he explained.
