Mozambique: Holland's PM will prioritise water, farming cooperation

The Frelimo Central Committee will meet in Matola, Maputo province, from Friday (27-05), with the organisation of the XIII Frelimo Congress the main item on the agenda.
The two-day meeting – the Central Committee’s fifth ordinary session – will evaluate and discuss the report of the Political and Verification Commission, as well as assessing the political and economic situation in the country.
The Frelimo Congress, which is being planned down to the smallest detail, will renew the party’s internal organs and discuss seven motions, namely, national unity, peace, reconciliation and democracy; nature and role of the association in the organisation of the State and society; good governance, ethics, transparency, combating corruption and access to justice; and education, science and technological innovation as a development strategy.
Other motions relate to inclusive and sustainable economic and social development; sovereignty, territorial integrity, defence, security, public order and the fight against crime; and Mozambique in the region, in Africa and in the world.
The Congress will bring together senior cadres of the party and guests.
