The Ugandan government intends to award decorations to around 800 Mozambican fighters who distinguished themselves in the fall of the dictatorial regime led by Idi Amin Dada.
As a way of recognising the support provided by the Mozambican Defence Forces,
Honorary titles will be awarded in three of the most relevant categories in Uganda.
To this end, a file will be sent to the Mozambican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, which will in turn refer it to the relevant bodies.

Uganda is greatly indebted to Mwalimu Julius Nyerere and FRELIMO leader Samora Machel for their support to our liberation struggle right from the 70s. This logistical support, training and ideological grounding is what laid a firm foundation for the development of the UPDF. pic.twitter.com/d9SYYJUwbs
