Mozambican politician Wehia, historical leader of the Mozambique Democratic Party (PADEMO), died of an illness last Saturday in Maputo.
Before creating his party, Wehia Ripua was affiliated with the Frelimo party, and achieved renown as a guerrilla during the armed national liberation struggle that culminated in national independence in 1975, during which he was deputy to General Raimundo Pachinuapa on the Cabo Delgado front.
