Mozambique: Dates announced for MMEC 2022

The 8th edition of the biennial event on Mining, Oil, Gas and Energy of Mozambique will now take place from 2 to 3 June 2022 at the Joaquim Chissano Conference Centre under the theme “ Sustainable Development Across the Entire Mineral and Energy Value Chain – towards a Low Carbon Future”.
President of the Republic Filipe Jacinto Nyusi will give the opening address, and will meet the main actors of the national and international industry to discuss the future of Industry in Mozambique.
Given the latest global geopolitical developments, there will be great interest in accelerating the development of crucial mega projects now at a key stage in Mozambique. Several projects are expected to be scaled up, with investment and project opportunities increasing rapidly.
Following current trends, this year’s edition will continue to present strategic government initiatives in delivering infrastructure, sustainable policy options, sector reforms, and security to the region over the next decade. Renewables in the electrification of Mozambique, tackling net-zero, storage, power grid planning, transmission, and the future of hydrogen will also be discussed.

Key speakers at the conference will include the Mozambican Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, the President of the Mozambican Chamber of Commerce, the Chairman of the ENH Board of Directors, the President of INP, the President of EDM, the CEO of Matola Gas Company and other high-level dignitaries and delegates, as well as resource persons from renowned regional and international institutions within and outside the energy, mining, oil and gas industries.
Endorsed by Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH), the MMEC 2022 Conference & Exhibition will also have the participation of ministers, senior directors of governmental companies, strategic development partners, operators from the oil & gas, mining, and energy sectors. MMEC also foresees the participation of institutional investors and service providers with whom the other attendees will be able to interact, share trends, exchange contacts, and establish the largest commercial partnerships.
